ALEXANDRIA, Va.–NCUA Board Member Rodney Hood said that with the economy now recovering from COVID-19, he wants the NCUA board to institute an advisory board.
“It’s more important now than ever that we hear directly from credit unions,” said Hood. “We need to do a much better job getting on the ground feedback directly from credit unions in a formal setting where credit unions do not feel they will be reprimanded for giving honest feedback. This issue also gets to the vice chairman’s feedback loop survey following exams, and that is an initiative that I also fully support.”
Specifically, Hood said he wants to see an advisory board created related to the agency’s budget and strategic plan.
“Getting this advisory board running will be a priority of mine during the remainder of my term,” Hood said. “The NCUA should pay for all expenses associated with the advisory board. I would like to thank Chairman Harper and his chief of staff for their openness to create an advisory board.”
