NCUA Accepting Comment On New Exam Info Recordkeeping System

ALEXANDRIA, Va.–NCUA said it will be accepting comment on a new recordkeeping system related to examinations, according to a notice published in the Federal Register.

The notice is related to a new system being deployed by the agency called the “Examination and Supervision System” (ESS) that is to be used to track and store examination and supervision documents, including the coordination and conduct of examinations of credit unions, supervisory evaluations and analyses, enforcement actions and federal court actions, the notice states.

The Categories

Specifically, ESS will include records in categories that include:

  • Information about NCUA employees assigned to CU exam and supervision tasks, such as name, work phone number, work e-mail address, and other employment information
  • Demographic and financial information about individual CU members, such as name, address, Social Security number, account information, loan and share information, and publicly available information)
  • Contact information about credit union officials, such as members of the board, audit committee chair, chief executive officer, chief compliance officer, internal auditor, and independent auditor, including name, address, phone number, and e-mail address
  • User information, such as name, email address, and role about other users of the system, including contractors, credit union representatives, State Supervisory Authority staff, and Credit Union Service Organization representatives (CUSOs)

NCUA is accepting comment for the next 30 days.
