NBA Team, Mountain America CU Complete Their First ‘Pass’

SALT LAKE CITY– The NBA’s Utah Jazz and Mountain America Credit Union have made Camp Kostopulos, known as Camp K, this season’s first recipient of “Pass It Along,” a program featuring fan nomination opportunities that will award a total of $25,000 to five local charitable organizations.

The community outreach program is sponsored by the team and the credit union.

In recognition of its significant and ongoing contributions to local residents, Camp K was presented with a $5,000 donation during the Jazz home game here, with Utah Jazz forward/center Derrick Favors and Mountain America EVP Marshall Paepke presenting the check to the organization.

As part of the program, Paepke and Utah Jazz broadcaster Craig Bolerjack recently visited Camp K to learn first-hand about the nonprofit’s efforts, take a tour of the facility and spend time with some of the organization’s clients.

“At Camp K, we’ve made it our mission for close to 50 years to improve the lives of people with disabilities by helping them access and enjoy their community, the arts, sports, education, and adaptive recreation in the great outdoors,” said Mircea Divricean, Kostopulos Dream Foundation president and CEO.
