NASCUS Names New VP And Legislative Counsel

Nichole Seabron

ARLINGTON, Va.–The National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors (NASCUS) has named Nichole Seabron as its new vice president, legislative/regulatory counsel.

In her role, Seabron will be responsible for representing the state credit union system before federal regulators and lawmakers, as well as for analyzing and interpreting key regulatory and legislative developments for NASCUS members and the state system at large, the association said.

“Nichole brings a wealth of experience from her background in the regulatory environment, in credit unions and in financial services generally,” said Lucy Ito, NASCUS president and CEO. “She joins the state system just in time for the New Year, when she will assist the state system in tackling a number of challenges and opportunities.”

Seabron replaces Sabrina Bergen, who took another position in Washington last fall.

Before joining NASCUS, Seabron was an attorney advisor with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in Washington, where, among other things, she advised clients on implementation of agency assistance programs administered by the Department of Homeland Security/FEMA in accordance with relevant statues, regulations, guidance and more.

Prior to that she served as federal compliance counsel/regulatory affairs for CUNA, also in Washington. In that position, Seabron served as advisory counsel to CUNA-member credit unions on banking regulations; acted as association liaison to financial institution regulators; monitored and analyzed regulatory developments; and more.

Before that, she was a corporate compliance officer/AVP for Bank of America, Private Bank in Washington.
