ARLINGTON, Va. – Alicia Valencia Erb, who has nearly two decades’ experience in working with cooperative and credit union leaders, state trade associations and national credit union organizations, has been named as the new vice president of member relations for NASCUS.
In the newly created position, Valencia Erb will be responsible for retaining and augmenting the association’s membership base, as well as reaching out to the state credit union system to demonstrate the value of NASCUS membership, the association said.
Valencia Erb was most recently an engagement strategist with CUNA, where she developed and implemented strategies to strengthen and deepen association member engagement, retention, and affiliation. She also developed and executed programs and strategies to communicate the CUNA-state association/league value proposition among credit unions, working with state league leaders and credit union leaders across the nation, NASCUS said.
Before her career at CUNA, Erb was assistant director of membership, marketing and meetings for the National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA), also of Washington. In that position, she developed membership recruitment and retention strategies and programs and strategized with senior management on meeting membership goals.
“Alicia has a wealth of experience and rich insights for working with the credit union system at all levels,” said NASCUS President and CEO Lucy Ito. “She has the skill sets to help NASCUS accelerate its already expanding membership, which will help the state credit union system become stronger and ever more effective in serving both our credit union and regulator members.”
