NAFCU Webinar Today on Managing Climate Change

ARLINGTON, Va.–NAFCU will host a webinar today titled “Managing Climate Change Risk Within the ERM Program.”

“Climate change is a global threat to every person and every organization. Consumers and regulators alike are focusing in this area, and your credit union must understand the top threats to your business and how to keep yourselves safe,” NAFCU said. “To identify and reduce the risk of these new threats, your credit union needs a methodology to evaluate an enterprise-wide risk assessment for present threats and vulnerabilities.”

According to NAFCU, attendees will learn how to identify these risks and locate opportunities for mitigation. From creation to adoption, you’ll uncover what you should do first to get these initiatives running and how to delegate responsibility to team members for proper organization.

The webinar, which is scheduled for 2-3 p.m., will explore how credit union executives can present the findings to their boards, leadership teams, employees and members to ensure proper procedural implementation.

Key Takeaways

NAFCU said key takeaways will include:

  • Learn what the expectations are from both a member and regulator perspective
  • Understand the specific types of climate threats and how to determine how they may they apply to your credit union
  • Discover what can you do now to get a climate risk management program started (or enhanced) at your credit union

The webinar is $295 for NAFCU members, $395 for non-members. For info, go here.
