NAFCU Marks 50th Anniversary With ‘Banking Without Bankers’ Video

ARLINGTON, Va.—NAFCU has launched a new video to its members – “Banking Without Bankers” – to mark its 50th anniversary and help members spread the word about the value credit unions deliver daily to American consumers nationwide.

Highlighting the difference between credit unions and banks, the video celebrates credit unions’ dedication to their members and communities, NAFCU said.
“As NAFCU celebrates its 50th Anniversary, we are humbled by the important accomplishments we've achieved together,” NAFCU CEO Dan Berger wrote in a message to members. “You are the reason we exist. We are proud to serve you, now and into the future.”

The one-minute spot shows people working together and simply living their lives. “Whoever said banking needed bankers,” the video says. “What if instead of shareholders, profits were shared equally with the people actually doing the banking. What if instead of making the rich richer, we want to enrich the communities where we live. That’s what it means to be part of a credit union…”

NAFCU is encouraging its members to share the video via social media and post it to their websites.
