ARLINGTON, Va.–NAFCU has launched a new member-only online community, the NAFCU Cybersecurity and IT Network, it said it designed specifically to foster a culture of information sharing and connection.
The new network joins NAFCU’s five other networks that are available to member credit unions at no additional cost: the CFO Network; Compliance, Risk and BSA Network; Human Resources Network, Lending Network, and Marketing and Growth Network.
“The credit union community is stronger when we work together, and NAFCU’s newly launched Cybersecurity and IT Network will help bring the industry together to discuss ways we can better protect our members’ financial data and strengthen our systems,” said NAFCU Executive Vice President and COO Anthony Demangone. “Working directly with our credit union members, the NAFCU team discovered a clear need in the industry. We then pivoted to create a network where credit unions can discuss and share strategies to guard against cyber thieves and fraudulent behavior, bolster security, and improve databases and internal systems. NAFCU will also take this opportunity to learn more about how we can continue to deliver extreme member service to our membership.”
About the Network
According to NAFCU, the new Network was developed with direct input from its member CUs and driven by a steering committee of credit union professionals working in the field, and will give members access to:
- Active discussion threads and knowledge exchange with peers
- A resource library of templates, reports and training from best-in-class organizations and peers
- Behind-the-scenes insights from NAFCU staff and industry experts
- A member directory of fellow NAFCU member credit union cybersecurity and IT professionals with which to connect
Participation in the network is limited to the specific role/function to keep the focus on topics and networking most relevant to cybersecurity and IT roles, NAFCU said.
