ARLINGTON, Va.—NAFCU is also applauding efforts to make NCUA’s budgeting process more transparent.
“We are also pleased to have the National Credit Union Administration Budget Transparency Act introduced last week by Senators Dean Heller (R-NV) and Mark Warner (D-VA),” said Briotta, adding that NAFCU has been pushing NCUA for greater transparency.
The legislation would amend the Federal Credit Union Act and require NCUA to make the draft budget publicly available and submit it for publication in the Federal Register, and hold a public hearing with notice provided to allow for public comments to be submitted on the budget.
