ARLINGTON, Va.—NAFCU has canceled its 55th Annual Conference and Solutions Expo, which had been set for July 12-14 in Montreal.
In announcing the cancellation, NAFCU said it “ “continues to evaluate the situation surrounding the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, including event capacity restrictions put in place by the province of Quebec and the Canadian government.”
This is the third year in a row NAFCU has been forced by the coronavirus pandemic to cancel what is traditionally its biggest event of the year. NAFCU also cancelled its 2021 annual conference, which had been set for Savannah, Ga., and its 2020 even, which was to be held in Vancouver, B.C.
“NAFCU's executives meet daily to discuss the pandemic, feedback from members, and CDC guidance and continue to take steps to ensure credit unions remain safe, operational, and informed of developments,” the trade association said.
Registrants Have Been Notified
NAFCU said registered attendees have been notified of the cancellation via email, which contains additional information on how to transfer conference registrations or obtain a refund, and how to proceed with canceling hotel and flight reservations.
“While the industry navigates this complex environment, NAFCU will continue to listen to the needs of credit unions and create opportunities to deliver on planned session topics over the coming months,” NAFCU said.
