ARLINGTON, Va.—NAFCU announced the results of the election for its 2023 board of directors.
Incumbent board member Karen Harbin, president and CEO of Commonwealth Credit Union in Frankfort, Ky., and new board member Whitney Anderson, president and CEO of Elements Financial Federal Credit Union in Indianapolis, will both serve as at-large directors for a three-year term.
Harbin currently serves as NAFCU’s treasurer.
Two candidates previously ran uncontested, officially winning their seats:
- Melanie Kennedy, Southwest Financial Federal Credit Union, Farmers Branch, Texas, has won the Southern Region three-year seat
- Stephanie Sherrodd, Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union, Albuquerque, N.M., has won the Western Region three-year seat
The newly elected board members will take their seats after NAFCU's Annual Business Meeting, scheduled to be held in-person on June 27 in Southern California.

NAFCU’s chairman is Gary Grinnell, president and CEO of Corning FCU, while Brian T. Schools, president and CEO of Chartway FCU is vice chair and Lonnie Nicholson, president and CEO of EECU is secretary.
