NAFCU Announces Results Of Board Elections

ARLINGTON, Va.—Jan N. Roche, president and CEO of State Department Federal Credit Union in Alexandria, Va., won reelection to an at-large seat on the NAFCU board of directors. Brian T. Schools, president and CEO of Chartway Federal Credit Union in Virginia Beach, Va., was also re-elected as eastern region director.

Lonnie Nicholson, president and CEO of EECU Credit Union in Fort Worth, Texas, and Keith Sultemeier, president and CEO of Kinecta Federal Credit Union in Manhattan Beach, Calif., will join the board as southern region director and western region director respectively. Nicholson will replace board member Charles A. Rutan, CEO of Southwest Airlines FCU in Dallas, and Sultemeier will replace Richard L. Harris, president and CEO of Caltech Employees FCU in La Canada, Calif. Rutan and Harris’s terms end in June 2019, NAFCU said.

"We extend a very warm welcome to our new board members, as I know how dedicated they will be to serving their colleagues and credit unions,” said NAFCU Board Chair Jeanne Kucey. “We also thank Rich Harris and Chuck Rutan for their service to NAFCU and for their contributions to the credit union industry.”

All four members will begin their three-year terms at the close of NAFCU’s annual business meeting, which takes place this year at the association’s Annual Conference and Solutions Expo in New Orleans.

  • Debra Schwartz, president and CEO of Mission FCU in San Diego, who is vice chair
  • Thomas W. DeWitt, president and CEO of State Farm FCU in Bloomington, Ill., who is treasurer
  • Gary Grinnell, president and CEO of Corning FCU in Corning, N.Y., who is secretary
  • Robert L. Fisher, president and CEO of Grow Financial FCU in Tampa, Fla.
  • James A. Kenyon, president and CEO of Whitefish Credit Union in Whitefish, Mont.
  • Daniel Weickenand, CEO of Orion Federal Credit Union in Memphis
