BEAVERTON, Ore.–An embrace of the concept of remote work combined with being an early adopter of digital solutions for members has led Rivermark Community Credit Union to sell one of its two administrative buildings.
The credit union said the sale of the 30,500-square-foot building along the Highway 217 corridor will allow it to “further support its hybrid workforce to meet the growing needs of its membership.”
The $1.29-billion credit union's other administrative building located at 9125 SW Gemini Drive is also in Beaverton and will remain operational, Rivermark CU said, adding the building is currently undergoing a significant renovation that will increase its square footage to accommodate future workforce growth.
"While we embrace remote work for our employees, we also felt it was important to consolidate our administrative building into a single location,” said President and CEO Seth Schaefer. “By doubling the square footage of our existing Gemini Administrative building, we are able to improve staff collaboration and service to our members while at the same time reducing our overall administrative footprint.”
According to the Portland Business Journal, the building was sold for approximately $5 million to Eilers Properties, LLC.
The credit union credited the City of Beaverton for facilitating a required zoning amendment that made it possible for the buyer to relocate their corporate headquarters.
Rivermark Community CU has approximately 88,026 buildings.
