SANDY, Utah–Mountain America Credit Union continued its various sports-related partnerships by entering into a deal with the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury. The $17-billion credit union said the deal will also allow it to increase its charitable work.
According to the credit union, the partnership makes Mountain America the official credit union of the Mercury, and it will be the exclusive source for the new Mercury debit and credit cards, which will feature the WNBA team’s logo and colors.
"As a community-focused credit union, we believe in providing our members with innovative payment options and personalized financial services while supporting local organizations throughout our footprint. This partnership is an excellent opportunity to do all of these things," said MACU CEO Sterling Nielsen in a statement.

This year, the Mercury will be a sponsor for the 20th annual Mountain America Swing for the Kids golf tournament that raises money for Primary Children’s Hospital in Arizona.
Mountain America, which is based in Utah operates in six states and has eight branches in Arizona.
Mountain America has a number of other sports-related partnerships, including a helmet logo deal with the Arizona Coyotes of the NHL, naming rights to the Iceplex connected to Arizona State University’s Mullett Arena, and an ongoing partnership with the NBA’s Utah Jazz.
