ASHEBORO, N.C. – The mother of a man who did an estimated $25,000 in damage to a branch of Truliant FCU here told local media her son has been in treatment for various disorders and needs medication.
As CUToday.info reported earlier, Corey Brower, 26, has been arrested after doing extensive damage to the branch, including breaking windows and computer equipment, after being told he could not make a withdraw. He is being held under a $5,000 bond.
Brower’s mother told WFMY News that her son was not himself and that his personality changed while he was in college, including stints in and out of jail.
"Now I have to sit and go through Christmas with my son in jail again. Which jail is not where he needs to be,” WFMY News quoted her as saying. “He needs to go to a behavior hospital.”
The woman said her son grew angry believing that someone has his money. But she said he is sorry for his actions and asked people to pray for her son.
