Mother Of Abducted CFO Offers New Details

BRISTOL, Conn.—The mother of the Achieve Financial CU CFO who police say was ordered to withdraw money while what appeared to be a bomb was attached to him, is reporting that she found her son lying face down in the garage in their Bristol, Conn. home with his hands tied behind his back.

Valerie Yussman, mother to Matthew Yussman, told police she and her son were taken into the house at gunpoint, according to the Hartford Courant.

The Hartford Courant report is based on a search warrant that was unsealed Tuesday. Police have taken Matthew Yussman's cell phone, a suitcase and other items. One day earlier warrants that were unsealed revealed that a piece of luggage and garbage bags had been found in the trunk of Yussman’s car, with police theorizing the would-be robbers wanted him to place cash from the credit union’s vaults in the bags.

The Record-Journal, meanwhile, reported that according to a warrant, Valerie Yussman overheard the two assailants saying they owed money to people "and if they do not pay, they would be killed."

The suspects remain at large.
