WASHINGTON–For the third consecutive week, mortgage rates have declined.
According to Fannie Mae:
- The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 4.09% with an average 0.5 point for the week ending Jan. 19, 2017, down from one week earlier when it averaged 4.12%. A year ago at this time, the 30-year FRM averaged 3.81%.
- The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 3.34% with an average 0.5 point, down from one week earlier when it averaged 3.37%. A year ago at this time, the 15-year FRM averaged 3.10%.
- The five-year Treasury-indexed hybrid ARM averaged 3.21% this week with an average 0.4 point, down from one week prior when it averaged 3.23%. A year ago, the 5-year ARM averaged 2.91%.
