More Than 40 CU Employees ‘Hit the Lottery’ At CU*Answers

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.–CU*Answers is reporting that in its first year running the “Win the Lottery” program, more than 40 employees across cuasterisk.com have participated.

An outreach of the CU*Answers Writing team, the program pairs writers with subject matter experts across the network to move knowledge previously in the heads of seasoned employees into shared documentation resources, the CUSO said.

Participants in Win the Lottery include employees who work at CUSOs CU*Answers, Xtend, CU*NorthWest and CU*South. Through their efforts these employees have shared their knowledge through new knowledgebase items, enhanced booklets and help, and in other documentation to add to the depth and breadth of CU*Answers’ shared online resources, the company said.

“I cannot stress enough the importance of having a strategic focus on building digital content to win over the growing search generation,” said Randy Karnes, CEO of CU*Answers CEO. “Through the Win the Lottery program, we not only build assets to improve customer experience, but we also ensure that staff knowledge is transferred to future employees.”

Compliance Event Held

Separately, AuditLink, the audit and compliance division of CU*Answers, hosted its fourth annual Conversations on Compliance event.

“We had a really great turnout with 42 attendees,” said Marsha Sapino, AuditLink assistant manager. “We’ve had increased registration year over year as more individuals in the network are looking for the latest news and tips on compliance.”

The agenda included tips for identifying human trafficking provided by Aaron Toffoli from the Kent County Human Trafficking Task Force; Steven Van Beek from Howard & Howard presented on the Telephone Consumer Protection Act; and Jim Vilker and Marsha Sapino of CU*Answers AuditLink spoke on BSA risk assessments and common audit findings.

“We want to thank the presenters and all of the folks that came out for joining us,” said Sapino. “Audit and compliance at the credit union can often feel daunting, and our goal is to help share the aggregate knowledge of the network of credit unions and partners.”
