CHICAGO–More than 150 people were in attendance during Alloya’s eighth annual Credit Union Executive Leadership Symposium. The three-day event at the Westin River North also included an additional 80 attendees who streamed the event live.
Altogether, the event reached professionals from nearly 160 credit unions across 24 states, the organization noted.
“I speak on behalf of the entire Alloya team when I say there’s nothing we enjoy more than connecting with our members, especially after all that we’ve been through these last few years,” said Tim Bruculere, Alloya’s senior vice president-membership. “The Symposium is an event we look forward to all year long, and we’re elated the event continues to grow in its success.”
‘Expansive Line-up’
According to Alloya, this year’s Symposium featured an expansive lineup of speakers, including keynote Richard Fisher, former president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas (2005-2015); Crystal Washington, technology marketing strategist and futurist; Lisa Bodell, founder and CEO of FutureThink; and Lee Rubin, former captain of the Penn State football team and corporate human resources professional.
The event also featured panel discussions led by a selection of credit union leaders and Alloya experts. Topics included subordinated debt, loan participations, capital markets and faster payments. Pre-conference sessions featured risk management, financial inclusion and economic topics, Alloya said.
All sessions were accessible to all attendees – both in-person and virtually.
Additional Activities
To supplement the education sessions, Alloya Corporate said attendees who traveled to the Windy City enjoyed two in-person exclusives: a reception and dinner at the world-famous Shedd Aquarium and Football Night with Alloya – a Symposium favorite – at The Signature Room at the 95th in the John Hancock Center.
“We thank all of our attendees – in-person and virtual – for taking the time out of your busy lives to join us for the Symposium, and we hope you will consider joining us again next year,” Bruculere concluded.
Alloya said it will host its ninth annual Leadership Symposium in Las Vegas Sept. 6-8, 2023.
