SAN DIEGO—Xpress Data, Inc. (XDI) said it will host its fifth annual Credit Union Chili Challenge on Saturday, Aug. 5, at the world-famous Del Mar Thoroughbred Club racetrack.
More than 20 credit unions are expected to travel from as far away as New Orleans to Del Mar, Calif., to compete for prize money totaling $14,000, which is to be donated to the charity of their choice.
The winner of the event, which is officially sanctioned by the International Chili Society, will earn the right to compete in the ICS World’s Championship Chili Cook-off, scheduled for Oct. 20-22 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nev.

For the first time, XDI said it will also provide credit unions with a free chili cook-off kit that includes step-by-step instructions and electronic versions of all the documents a credit union needs to make the event a success.
