More Than 2,000 Turn Out For Summit’s Annual Meeting & Event

MADISON, Wis.—More than 2,200 people attended Summit Fest, the annual meeting and family event hosted by Summit Credit Union here at Mallards Stadium, better known as the Duck Pond.

One of the largest annual meeting events hosted by a credit union in the country, Summit Fest combines a showcase of the previous year’s accomplishments with family-friendly entertainment that includes live music, a picnic lunch, obstacle courses and the fan-favorite diaper dash.

“Summit Fest is our annual member meeting, but it’s really become so much more,” said Summit Credit Union CEO and President Kim Sponem. “It’s a way to say thank you to our members, a family event, and one way we are introducing an entire generation to the cooperative business model and the value that credit unions bring to consumers. And, it’s a lot of fun for everyone involved.”

Successful Year Celebrated

Summit CU reported it celebrated another successful year in 2018, finishing as the top mortgage lender in Dane County, Wis., for the ninth consecutive year. Summit and its members also continued their mission to raise funds for developing communities around the world, donating more than $31,000 in 2018 through the Summit Global Good Card, the credit unions aid.

Summit also uses the member meeting as an occasion to recognize its annual board of directors Scholarship recipients.

The $3.4-billion Summit CU has approximately 188,000 members.
