Minnesota CU Opens Its Wings To Former Bank Customers

APPLE VALLEY, Minn.–Wings Financial Credit Union has officially opened three new offices after acquiring them from KleinBank.

The branches are located in Coon Rapids, Otsego and Plymouth, Minnesota, respectively

The credit union said all of the customers are now members after it completed the computer conversion and a rebranding of the branches. The new facilities bring to 20 the number of branches in the Wings Financial network.

As CUToday.info earlier reported here, the acquisition involves approximately 4,500 former bank customers, $40 million in deposits and $10 million in loans.

“We were looking to expand in the northwest metro, and these branches are a great fit for us,” said Frank Weidner, Wings Financial president and CEO, in a statement. “We’ve been thrilled to welcome our new members at these locations over the course of this week and to introduce them to our many services, our great rates and our low fees. And, by adding to our branch network, these locations will make our services more convenient than ever to thousands of Wings members living and working in the northwest metro.”

The $4.8-billion Wings Financial has approximately 245,000 members.

KleinBank is in the process of being acquired by Indiana-based Old National Bancorp.
