BREWER, Maine–After four Nor’easters have piled up the snow across New England, one credit union has found the green lining amid the clouds (and ideally, sun).
Brewer FCU is raising funds for a good cause by offering the chance for local residents to guess when the enormous snow bank outside its North Main Street offices will finally melt. Each guess costs $1, with the winner receiving a $50 Visa gift card. The money will go toward the Maine Credit Union League’s Ending Hunger campaign, which since 1990 has helped raise more than $8 million to fight hunger in the state.
