Michigan One Community CU Names New CEO

IONIA, Mich.–Michigan One Community Credit Union has named a new CEO to succeed Tim Hemenway, who is retiring on Oct. 1.

The $193.7-million Michigan One has named Hailie Patterson to the position.

According to the credit union, its board began the CEO succession planning process nearly seven years ago. In 2018, Patterson completed the 42-month-long CEO Readiness Training. On July 27, 2022, the unanimously voted to make Patterson the organization’s next leader.

Patterson has more than 15 years of financial industry experience and has spent the last 10 years with MOCCU, serving as the COO since 2017. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Davenport University and is a graduate of the Southeast Credit Union Nation Association Management School.

“I am proud and honored to lead Michigan One into the future,” Patterson said in a statement. “We have an amazing team of people that care about the work they do and make a positive impact on our members’ lives. With an outstanding team and a supportive and engaged board, I am looking forward to building on Michigan One’s foundation of financial strength and exceptional member service, and leading Michigan One to continued success and growth.”

‘Tremendous Growth’

Hemenway has served as CEO of Michigan One since 1991.

“His tenure has seen tremendous growth in the organization's popularity and consumer use, as well as many changes in how MOCCU members access their account through technology,” the credit union said.

Michigan One Community has approximately 19,000 members.
