TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. –The Michigan Credit Union League has announced a number of award winners.
The awards were presented during its 2024 Annual Convention & Exposition's and recognized those who are “continually seeking out new ideas and innovations that make Michigan a better place for all,” the league said.
Among those recognized was Gerber Federal Credit Union President/CEO John Buckley, who was awarded the Distinguished Service Award.
The award celebrates a lifetime of achievement for those demonstrating exceptional dedication to the credit union industry over the course of their careers, the league said.
‘Incredibly Proud’
“The entire team and board of directors of the Michigan Credit Union League are incredibly proud to be awarding John Buckley the Distinguished Service Award at our annual meeting this year,” said MCUL President/CEO Patty Corkery. “This award is the highest honor in our Michigan industry and John is very deserving. John has been actively involved in the credit union movement both in Michigan and nationally. He is a fierce advocate for not only his credit union but also the entire credit union system. John is well-regarded by our entire MCUL family as well as the lawmakers in Michigan. We are very happy to acknowledge his contributions to our industry.”
