DANVILLE, Ill.–First Illinois Credit Union said its members have approved a merger into Moline, Ill.-based Vibrant Credit Union.
The credit union said signage would begin changing July 1, with plans calling for the merger to be finalized by October. The $51-million First Illinois has 8,600 members. FICU said all 27 employees will retain their jobs.
The $581-million Vibrant CU has 39,000 members.
First Illinois began its life as Vermillion County Chapter Credit Union and over the years had absorbed several CUs via merger itself, including L&N & C&EI Credit Union and Danville Holy Family Credit Union.
