Merck Sharp & Dohme FCU Names New CEO

CHALFONT, Penn.–Merck Sharp & Dohme FCU has named a new CEO. The $760-million credit union as selected Dana DeFilippis to lead the organization.

DeFilippis has previously served as senior VP and succeeds CEO David Whitehead, who plans to retire on April 2 after 24 years of service at MSDFCU and a 45-year career in financial services.

DeFilippis has more than 25 years of financial services experience, including 23 years at the executive level with MSDFCU. She began with MSDFCU in 1999 as VP-finance before being appointed SVP in 2019. Prior to MSDFCU, DeFilippis was an auditor with a Philadelphia regional accounting firm and accounting manager at a Philadelphia bank.

"I am incredibly excited to embark on this new journey as Merck Sharp & Dohme Federal Credit Union's CEO,” said DeFilippis. “I look forward to working with our dedicated board of directors and exceptionally talented team, building on our successes, and continuing to improve our members' financial lives."

DeFilippis holds a Master of Science in Taxation from Temple University and Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Villanova University. She is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Credit Union Executive.

MSDFCU has approximately 30,000 members.
