MINOT, N.D.—Members of Town & Country Credit Union here have voted overwhelmingly against a proposed merger.
Members of the $390-million Town & Country had been asked to give their blessing to a combination with the $447-million Capital Credit Union in Bismarck. A special meeting was held April 25 and 26 for the voting.
The credit union stated that 80% of the ballots voted against the resolution.
“Since the merger resolution failed to get a simple majority vote, it will not proceed,” Town & Country stated on its website. “Thank you to the membership for attending the meeting and for voicing your comments and concerns.”
Capital CU had a similar statement on their website, alerting its members that the combination will not be taking place.
CUToday.info has reached out to both credit unions for comment.
