TAMPA, Fla. – GTE Financial Credit Union will be awarding $10,000 to two people who won its “Got Game” challenge to software developers.
Winning the award were Amie and Matt Moreno, who won the competition to create a financial gaming application for Android and/or iOS platforms.
The credit union held the judging at its offices, with entrants measured on creativity, ease of use, brand alignment, market differentiation, sustainability, user benefit, entertainment value, user adoption and monetization potential. The funds will be awarded once the app is released to the public.
“GTE Financial is at the forefront of banking technologies, including gamification,” said Joe Brancucci, president and CEO of GTE Financial, in a statement. “Being able to provide an innovative and engaging financial tool to members of all ages is something we’re really looking forward to.”
Submitted mobile apps were required to be game-like in nature, completely original and never-before published, and fully developed and functioning. To be eligible, apps were also required to be either entertaining or pragmatic in function while providing a clear benefit to the user, have a financial theme or component, and be a product suitable for GTE Financial branding and ownership.
