GREAT NECK, N.Y.–Credit unions that find many members are out to lunch when it comes to challenges in saving money are right—literally.
New research has found eating lunch out every day can add up to a lot more than lunch money.
A survey conducted by GetVoip.com of 1,000 people between the ages of 25 and 64 asked, “On average, how much do you spend going out to lunch every work week?” It found the vast majority of respondents said that they spend $15 or less per week going out for lunch, the cost of one to two meals. Some 17.7% said that they do not regularly go out to lunch at all. But a significant number said they spend more than $15 — 17.8% of respondents said they spend $15-$30 a week, and 9.6% of respondents said they spend $30-$45.
