LAFOLLETTE, Tenn.—A skimming attack has been brought to an inadvertent end when the skimming device was pulled off the machine by a cardholder removing their card.
The Campbell County, Tenn. Sheriff’s Office now has possession of the skimming device after the cardholder reported the incident that occurred at an ATM of Y-12 CU, WATE.com said.
The scam is still under investigation and police are asking anyone who has used the ATM recently to contact the credit union, based in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
