LANCASTER, Texas—Another member of Neighborhood Credit Union has been surprised with a $10,000 award.
Joe Rogers, 69, won the $10,000 during a surprise visit from Neighborhood CU SVP Carolyn Jordan, who presented him with a check in that amount during a visit to the CU’s branch. Rogers’ name was drawn from the names of members who have been participating in NCU’s Prize Savings Account program, which is designed to encourage people to save money. Neighborhood Credit Union rewards good saving habits with prize drawings throughout the year, including a $10,000 prize each quarter and a $25,000 grand prize at the beginning of each new year.
Rogers is retired after a 27-year career with the postal service. He said he tries to set aside 22% of each check he receives. A video of the presentation can be found in CUToday.info’s The Vids.
