Maybe the Lunch Lady Will Even Smile: IH Mississippi Valley CU Picks Up Tab for Outstanding School Lunch Balances

DAVENPORT, Iowa - IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union has paid off all outstanding lunch balances for students at Davenport Community Schools.

Officials with the school district said the outstanding balance of school lunches at the end of the school year was around $7,800, according to KWQC/Gray News.

School officials told the news outlet that even with outstanding lunch balances, students are still able to get lunch, but those balances would roll over to a fine at the end of the school year.

Representatives with the IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union said they presented a check during a Davenport school board meeting.

The Moline, Ill.—based IH Mississippi Valley CU has $2.2-billion in assets and approximately 145,000 members.
