ALEXANDRIA, Va.—NCUA Chairman Debbie Matz Thursday sent a letter to the authors of HR 2769, the Risk-Based Capital Study Act of 2015, better known as the “Stop & Study” bill.
The letter was in response to Reps. Stephen Fincher (R-TN), Denny Heck (D-WA), and Bill Posey (R-FL)—who introduced the legislation—sending a letter to NCUA Oct. 6 requesting the agency voluntarily study and report on several issues relating to the risk-based capital proposal before finalizing an RBC rule.
In Thursday’s letter (click here for the letter), Matz informed the congressmen that NCUA has “studied each of these issues closely, and we have obtained and carefully considered the views of thousands of stakeholders. We will compile a report to respond to your request shortly after the Board’s consideration of a final rule on October 15, 2015.”
The agency posted its open board meeting agenda for next Thursday, and the RBC proposal is set to come up for vote.
