Massachusetts’ DCU Taps California CU Leader as Its New CEO

MARLBOROUGH, Mass.–Digital Federal Credit Union has named a new president and CEO to succeed its long-time leader, Jim Regan.

Shruti Miyashiro

The $9.8-billion credit union has selected Shruti Miyashiro to lead the organization effective July 31.

Miyashiro will take over as president and CEO while Regan eyes retirement this summer. Regan has led DCU for the past 13 years.

Miyashiro has been serving as CEO of the $2.3-billion Orange County’s Credit Union in California, a position she has held since 2007.

“I look forward to working with the talented team and board to ensure DCU’s strong foundation of providing members with service excellence and innovative financial solutions continues to thrive," said Miyashiro in a statement.

Successful Stewardship

Prior to being named CEO at DCU, Regan served as CFO for 14 years. During his tenure, assets doubled, membership increased by 165% and employment grew by 69%, the credit union said.

“(Regan)’s executive leadership, commitment and integrity have steered DCU to become one of the most successful and respected credit unions in the country,” said DCU Board Chairman Matthew Menning in a release.

Regan was a founding member of charitable foundation DCU for Kids.

Since 2005, the foundation has raised $22 million which it has donated to Autism Speaks, Special Olympics and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute among others, according to the credit union.
