Man, Who Arrived At CU In Stolen Car, Arrested For Bogus Student Loan App

MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. — A man has been arrested here for attempting to commit student loan fraud—and he came to the CU in a stolen car, too.

Police arrested Kody F. Jack, 28, of Chicago after he attempted to finalize a fraudulent loan application at a branch of Educators Credit Union. Police said they were contacted by Educators after first having received the suspicious loan application for $18,000 online. Police have further alleged that Jack also possessed various fictitious documents to substantiate the loan application.

One day after filing the application, Jack was arrested when he came to the branch to finalize the loan app. Police said the vehicle Jack drove to the branch had been stolen in Milwaukee.

Jack has been charged with identity theft, wire fraud, operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent, fraud against a financial institution, and obstructing an officer.
