WALNUT CREEK, Calif.–A man here allegedly has confessed to robbing a credit union–but he didn’t confess to the police. Instead, he told a local priest about what he had allegedly done.
According to police, the man, who has not yet been arrested, went to church on Sunday and confessed to a priest he had robbed a local branch of Patelco Credit Union on the previous Thursday. He allegedly then turned over the $1,200 stolen to the priest, who, in turn, contacted the police and turned over the money. The man left the church after returning the money.
