HOUSTON – A man who was found dead in the parking lot of a credit union here was allegedly killed as the result of a prank.
According to police, Jason Maas, 37, was found dead in the parking lot of Chartway FCU’s branch at FM 1960 and Forest Branch Boulevard. Police have arrested Thomas Rolle, 29, as their primary suspect. Rolle has been charged with murder.
According to prosecutors, a woman told investigators that Rolle came to her apartment after the killing, saying he stabbed Maas because he had played a prank on him. The prank included hiding Rolle’s car, prosecutors said, according to Click2Houston.com.
Prosecutors said the woman told investigators that Rolle used bleach to clean a folding knife used in the stabbing, which he later discarded, and also gave the woman a bloody gun he said he used to hit Maas and asked her to sell it so he could get money to leave town.
Maas is being held without bond.
