BELMONT, Calif.—A man dressed as a woman robbed the Belmont office of the $2 billion Provident CU Friday. The robbery occurred at 3:10 p.m., and the man got away with an undisclosed amount of money.
As police were at the credit union investigating Friday, they received another call about a carjacking authorities believe is the same individual who robbed the CU. One block away from the scene of the carjacking, police found a pile of women’s clothing—including the sweater, scarf and wig worn by the crook during the robbery. There was also a fake gun, described as a black air-soft replica handgun.
The robber—described as black, between the ages of 17 and 20 and six-feet-tall—is still at large. Provident is based in Redwood City, Calif.
