Making a Comeback: 0% APR on AmEx Balance Transfers

NEW YORK—After American Express dropped its 0% APR balance transfer offer during the pandemic, the pricing offer is making its return.

New cardholders can take advantage of an introductory 0% APR on balance transfers on two American Express cards, the Amex EveryDay Credit Card and the Amex EveryDay Preferred Credit Card.

According to Forbes, with rising interest rates and possibly tougher economic times ahead, Amex’s new offers could help consumers eliminate interest on their accounts and make progress on paying off their debt.

“Depending on the particular card you’re transferring a balance to, a balance transfer offer can be anywhere from six months up to nearly two years,” Forbes said in a report aimed at consumers. “This promotional period enables all of your payments to go toward reducing the balance instead of being split between principal and interest charges.”
