TAMPA, Fla.– Suncoast Credit Union continues its expansion east into Orlando, opening a new Service Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, community donation and “business takeover.”
The branch is the 77th overall for the $17-billion Suncoast CU, its first in the city of Orlando and its second in Central Florida. It plans to open another location in Orlando in December.
“This is an incredibly important market for us,” President and CEO Kevin Johnson said in a statement. "As Suncoast continues to expand in Central Florida, our goal is to become an integrated part of the community, and to serve the financial needs of those who live and work here. We believe that money-saving financial products and services should be accessible to all, and we’re here to provide that."
Donation Provided
As part of the grand opening, Suncoast presented a $2,500 donation to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, which will provide 10,000 meals to those experiencing hunger.
Directly following the grand opening celebration, Suncoast said its leaders headed to Mike’s Italian Ice, located in the same plaza of the new branch, and offered free Italian ice from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., to engage with the community and meet its new neighbors.
The 1.1-million member CU said the new branch includes bilingual team members, a modern open floor plan with vibrant interior art in the lobby, and a drive-thru ITM.
The S. Semoran branch is the credit union’s second location in Central Florida, with a third location set to open in December at 12402 South Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando.
