Maine League To Host First-Ever Women’s Leadership Conference

WESTBROOK, Maine–The Maine Credit Union League will host its first-ever Women’s Leadership Conference on Nov. 29, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET, at the Regency Hotel in Portland.

“This first of its kind event will focus on issues facing women in leadership roles, and is open to men and women alike, who are interested in developing the leadership capacities of women,” the league said. “The event will not only inspire women to be proactive in their own career development but CEOs, HR executives, and managers will learn practical tips and suggestions to help develop and manage the talent in their credit unions.”

The morning keynote address will be given by Col. Jill Morgenthaler (Ret.), author, and leadership expert. Morgenthaler’s session “From the Battlefield to the Boardroom: Secrets to High Performance Leadership,” will focus on how women in the CU can increase profits, boost morale, reach a goal, identify challenges, and overcome difficult people and situations, the league said.

Attendees will also be joined by Holly Herman, business owner, former CU CEO and NCUA senior advisor. Herman will address the differences between how men and women approach their work lives, and how understanding these differences can lead to greater success at your CU. Attendees will also get a crash course in productivity, as Herman will guide attendees through her proven methods for doubling productivity while working fewer hours, according to the league.
