MONTGOMERY, Ala.–MAX Credit Union here has joined with the Montgomery Biscuits and the Alabama State University Hornets to host a home baseball game against Mississippi State University at Montgomery's Riverwalk Stadium.
The contest between Alabama State and Mississippi State was originally scheduled for the Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex on April 11 and is scheduled for 6 pm.
Riverwalk Stadium is home to the Montgomery Biscuits, the Double A affiliates of the Tampa Bay Rays.
"We are thrilled to have teamed up with our good friends at MAX Credit Union to bring Alabama State Baseball to Riverwalk Stadium," said Biscuits Chief Operating Officer Brendon Porter. "We will provide the same game day experience for The Stingfest as fans enjoy at a Biscuits' game, including a post-game MAX Fireworks Show. This is just the beginning of what I am sure will be a strong partnership between the Biscuits and Alabama State, both on and off the baseball field."
The two schools have not met before, with the first meeting scheduled for this season. The Hornets are coming off back-to-back appearances in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) championship game and a 2016 NCAA Regional appearance, while Mississippi State has won 11 SEC championships and appeared in nine College World Series.
