Louisiana League Turns to Another League for Its New President & CEO

HARAHAN, La.–The Louisiana Credit Union League (LCUL) has tapped another state league for its new president and CEO. The league has named Juan Fernandez Ceballos, president and CEO of the New Mexico Credit Union Association, to lead the organization.

Juan Fernandez Ceballos

Ceballos was named to lead the CUAMN in March of 2021, and has worked in credit unions  for over two decades and has a strong background in government affairs.

Prior to joining the New Mexico association, Ceballos was a community development officer with Canopy Credit Union, and prior to that CEO of the CUAMN’s Leverage Point CUSO and a vice president with the league. He has also held positions with the New York Credit Union Association.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Binghamton University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Western Governors University.

“The board is excited to welcome Juan as our next CEO,” said Louisiana CU League Steve Webb. “His experience will be an invaluable asset to the league and to the credit unions of Louisiana. We believe with Juan at the helm, the organization will continue to experience great success."

Humbled & Grateful

Added Ceballos, “I am humbled and grateful to have been selected as the next president/CEO of the Louisiana Credit Union League. This is a fantastic institution.”

Ceballos will succeed as CEO Matt Rookard, who left the organization in February of this year after less than a year in the post.
