Louisiana League To Launch New Peer Group Program

HARAHAN, La. — The Louisiana Credit Union League said it will launch a new initiative in 2017 that delivers an added benefit for member credit unions.

The league said its new Peer Group Program will serve as a platform for Louisiana professionals to connect, share ideas and learn of the latest resources made available.

The program was designed to promote professional development and to accelerate the growth of meaningful connections. Peer Group Program participants will share best practices, education, and resources in three fields: compliance, marketing, and member business lending.

According to the LCUL, the benefits of membership will include:

  • Access to a members-only resource site with forums and document sharing
  • Quarterly newsletter with tools/resources, hot topics, and member spotlights
  • Educational opportunities, including quarterly webinars and discounted registration for a peer group event
  • Networking and the sharing of best practices with peers

Additional benefits for each peer group will be set by an advisory committee, the league said.

Peer Groups are open to employees or volunteers of affiliated credit unions and are guided by a designated League Liaison and credit union-led Advisory Committee. The annual membership fee is $50/person for each group. Members can sign-up for the Peer Group Passport for $100/person to receive the benefits from every area.

“LCUL’s Peer Group Program is a great way to unite those who share a common interest in the credit union movement and to provide avenues to communicate regularly. We often struggle with the same challenges as our peers. We work smarter when we work together,” said Cami Crouchet, EVP of strategic services. “The Peer Group Program is just one of the many new initiatives the League is providing to member credit unions in 2017.”
