HARAHAN, La.– Louisiana Credit Union League CEO Juan Fernandez Ceballos has announced a number of changes at the league, primarily in personnel, he said are aimed at improving the value proposition of the league.
Ceballos was named league CEO in May after previously serving as president of the Credit Union Association of New Mexico. At the LCUL he succeeded Matt Rookard, who left the organization in February of this year after less than a year in the post.
“The league has been serving credit unions across Louisiana admirably, and we intend to build upon that,” Fernandez said in a statement. “We have realigned the organization to enhance our value proposition to our credit unions, invest in our members and double down on improving and creating a strong work culture that bolsters staff morale and satisfaction.”
Personnel Changes
According to the league, its reorganization includes:
- Transitioning Steven Liberto’s role to executive vice president of innovation and partnerships, “bringing a heightened focus to relevance and the future of credit unions.”
- Naming Anthony Ware as legislative director and Angela Gervais as director of political advocacy and engagement, which the league said will elevate its advocacy work.
- Moving Angela Melle into a new role as senior director of communications and education, a “key strategic position that enables us to deliver first-class services and events to members.”
- Promoting Abby Trauth to director of partnerships and education, “leveraging her expertise and vast connections to enhance our value proposition to our members.”
- Naming Nanci Wilson, a credit union veteran who most recently serving as digital engagement and youth empowerment coordinator at the Credit Union Association of New Mexico, to a newly created position with the LCUL as vice president of member solutions.
- Creating a new director of impact and community development position “to augment credit unions’ economic impact in Louisiana.” The league said it will be advertising that position in the near future.
‘Laser-Focused’
“We are laser focused on creating an environment in which every credit union in Louisiana thrives and is empowered to serve their members well,” Ceballos said in a statement. “We are assembling the best team for our league to deliver on that promise to our credit unions today and into the future. Amazing things are already happening in Louisiana; our best days are ahead of us through this bold, new strategic direction.”
