HARAHAN, La.–The Louisiana Credit Union League has announced members of its 2023 class of Emerging Leaders.
“The five individuals selected for this year's program represent the elite among the promising credit union professionals across the state of Louisiana,” the league said.
Co-sponsored by the Louisiana CU Foundation, the league said the Emerging Leader Program recognizes the achievements of exceptional individuals who consistently integrate themselves into the industry through development, service, and engagement.
The new emerging leaders include:
- Nicholas Angelo, Campus FCU
- Brandon Broussard, Pelican State CU
- Makeitta Citizen, Southwest Louisiana CU
- Blake Haynie, Bossier FCU
- Daphne Hernandez, OnPath FCU
Overall Winner to be Announced
The individuals receive a full scholarship to LCUL’s 2023 Annual Convention August 2-4 in New Orleans. During this time, the overall winner will be announced on the main stage, receiving a full scholarship to CUNA’s four-day Emerging Leader School along with the “coveted title,” the league said.
"One of the most significant things we can do as the state trade association is elevate the profiles of individuals paving the way and provide opportunities such as this to strengthen and amplify their leadership skills,” said LCUL SVP Lacey Weaver. “In its third year, this program has allowed us to introduce and recognize individuals who are really moving the needle. We look forward to working with them and witness their emergence as not only leaders in the movement but role models for future influencers of the industry.”
