Long Time ECU CEO, Joe Hutyra, Retires, Successor Named

William Palasota

WACO, Texas–Long-time Educators CU President/CEO Joe Hutyra has retired and a successor has been named.

Hutyra began his career at ECU in 1978 as a loan officer and was named president/CEO in 2008. Under his leadership, the credit union has grown to more than $474 million in assets and more than 28,000 members and has expanded its field of membership to include more of Central Texas, the Cornerstone CU League reported.

“None of my modest accomplishments, nor the many accomplishments of this credit union, would have been possible without a supportive board of directors and an outstanding staff,” Hutyra told the CCUL. “I am truly thankful to have worked alongside both during my tenure at ECU. I will certainly miss the relationships I have built with our members over the past 43 years, but I know I’m leaving this credit union in very capable hands.”

The credit union has named William Palasota, who formerly served as CFO, as its new president/CEO. Palasota has been with the credit union for more than 36 years.
