Local Pride At Heart of “My VC” Campaign

VENTURA, Calif.—Ventura County Credit Union here has launched a new advertising campaign with hometown pride at its center.

The “My VC” campaign aims to build enthusiasm and support for Ventura County and includes among its participants local dignitaries, influencers and citizens.

The campaign includes both print advertising and radio spots and calls on local residents to share what Ventura County means to them by posting photos of the region and including the campaign hashtag, #thatsmyvc. More than 350 photos, including a post by Assemblywoman Jacqui Irwin, have now been aggregated to thatsmyvc.com from the growing popularity of the hashtag on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

“Great schools, business owners creating jobs and a safe community. That’s my Ventura County,” shared Assemblywoman Jacqui Irwin, representative of the 44th California Assembly District, in a Tweet.

According to the credit union, it has furthered participation in the movement by distributing thousands of complimentary Ventura County swag bags to local residents from its seven branch locations. With free t-shirts, license plate frames, collectable tote bags, stickers and more, the Ventura County blitz is planned to continue through August as supplies last.

Local Ventura County Girl Scout Troops also assisted the campaign by helping to assemble a significant number of these Ventura County swag bags.
