Linda McMahon Announces Plans To Exit The SBA Ring

WASHINGTON—Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator Linda McMahon is stepping down from her position effective April 12.

"NAFCU is grateful for Administrator McMahon's partnership over the past few years as we've worked to increase credit unions' participation in SBA lending programs," said NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger in a statement.  "Credit unions' ability to invest in their communities and provide capital to small businesses is supported by the SBA's programs. We look forward to continuing our work on these issues with the agency and wish Linda the best."

Berger signed a Memorandum of Understanding with McMahon during NAFCU's 2017 Congressional Caucus. The association also testified in support of legislation to strengthen the SBA's 7(a) loan program last year, which the agency is currently working to implement.

NAFCU has also worked with the SBA on other industry issues, such as website accessibility concerns under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and efforts to modernize the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the trade association noted.
